Article​​​​​​​ 158. Mechanisms of international cooperation in the field of water use and conservation

The mechanisms of international cooperation of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of water use and conservation include the following:

ensuring the rational and fair use of transboundary waters and water objects in its territory when carrying out activities that have or may have a transboundary impact;

taking measures to prevent, stop, and restrict pollution that may lead to the transfer of contamination of transboundary waters to the transboundary water objects of other states;

the development, approval, and joint implementation of appropriate legal, administrative, economic, financial, and technical measures to prevent, restrict, and reduce transboundary impact;

the joint implementation of bilateral and multilateral research and development in the field of preventing, restricting, and reducing transboundary impact;

other cooperation mechanisms provided for in the international agreements of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of water use and conservation.
