Article 16. Canceling the certificate of electronic digital signature key

The certificate of electronic digital signature key can be canceled by the registration center on the basis of the ownerʼs application the closed key of electronic digital signature.

The registration center must cancel the certificate of electronic digital signature key, regardless of the consent of the owner of the closed key of electronic digital signature, if:

the validity period of the certificate has expired;

it is clearly known that the validity of the document on which the certificate of electronic digital signature key has been issued has been terminated;

it is detected that the owner of the closed key of electronic digital signature has not fulfilled his obligations described in the second part of article 10 of this Law.

In that cases, when the suspension period of validity of the certificate of electronic digital signature key is over and there is no application of the owner of the closed key of electronic digital signature on restoration it, the certificate of electronic digital signature key should be cancelled.

Cancellation of the certificate of electronic digital signature key is carried out by the registration center on the day the ownerʼs application the closed key of electronic digital signature is received or on the day the circumstances mentioned in the second and third part of this article occur.

The record on cancellation of the certificate of electronic digital signature key is entered by the registration center in the registry of electronic digital signature certificates, and the owner of the closed key of electronic digital signature is notified.
