Article 49. Grounds for recognizing the marriage invalid

Family code of the Republic of Uzbekistan · Date: 30.04.1998 · In force

Marriage shall be recognized as invalid in the following cases:

Violation of the provisions set forth in Articles 14 — 16 of this Code;

Conclusion of a fictitious marriage, i.e., where the spouses or either of them have/has registered the marriage without the intention to create a family;

Concealment by one of the persons entering into marriage from the other person of the presence of venereal disease or human immunodeficiency virus (HIV infection), if the latter has applied to the court with such a claim.
