Article 194. Children placed in foster families for upbringing (patronage)

Family code of the Republic of Uzbekistan · Date: 30.04.1998 · In force

Minor children left without parental care, including those in educational and treatment institutions, as well as social welfare institutions shall be placed in foster family.

The preliminary selection of children for placement in a foster family shall be carried out by the persons wishing to take the children into a family, in consultation with the guardianship and trusteeship bodies.

The placement of children in a foster family shall be performed considering their wish. Children attained the age of ten years may be placed with a foster family only with their consent.

The procedure and conditions for the placement of children in foster family shall be determined by legislation.
