Water bodies may be in exclusive or joint use.
A water body may be granted to water management user organizations and water users for one or more purposes, provided that the established requirements and conditions are met.
A water body is granted for use in accordance with the procedure established by legislation, with the agreement of the relevant water management authorities, sanitary-epidemiological well-being and public health authorities, ecology, environmental protection and climate change authorities, mining and geology authorities.
The use of a water body for the discharge of waste waters is permitted only if ecological and sanitary requirements and conditions are observed.
Water bodies may be granted for one or simultaneously for several purposes of use.
Water bodies for exclusive use may be granted in whole or in part to legal entities and individuals by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan or another authorized state body.
A water body not granted for exclusive use is considered a jointly used water body.
When withdrawing water from a jointly used water body, water users must take into account mutual interests, must not complicate the exercise of the right to water use, and must not cause harm to each other.
