Article 96. Duties of parents to keep their minor children

Parents shall be obliged to keep their minor children.

Parents who fail to perform the duty to keep their minor children voluntarily shall be subject to recovery of alimony by court decision or court order.

In cases where there is no agreement between the parents on payment of maintenance alimony or its payment is not performed on a voluntary basis with none of the parents having applied to court with a claim or petition for recovery of maintenance alimony, the guardianship and trusteeship bodies, as well as the child who has reached the age of fourteen shall have the right to bring a claim for alimony recovery from the father or mother for maintenance of minor children in the amount established by law.

In case of separate habitation of the parents and the child, the guardianship and trusteeship bodies, as well as the child who has reached the age of fourteen shall have the right to bring a claim for the simultaneous recovery of alimony for the maintenance of minor children from both father and mother.
