Article 65. The right of the child to live and be brought up in a family

Family code of the Republic of Uzbekistan · Date: 30.04.1998 · In force

Every child shall have the right to live and be brought up in a family, the right to know his/her parents, the right to their care, the right to live with them, except in cases where this contradicts to his/her interests.

The child shall have the right to be brought up by his/her parents; have his/her interests protected; develop fully; and be treated with respect for his/her human dignity.

In the absence of parents, deprivation of parental rights, and in other cases of loss of parental care, the right of the child to be brought up in a family shall be ensured by the guardianship and trusteeship body.
