Article 43. Dissolution of marriage in the civil registry office at the request of the either of spouses

Family code of the Republic of Uzbekistan · Date: 30.04.1998 · In force

At the request of one of the spouses, regardless of whether they have common minor children, a marriage may be dissolved in a civil registry office if the other spouse:

Declared missing by the court;

Recognized by the court as incapable due to mental disorder (mental illness or dementia);

Sentenced to imprisonment for at least three years for committing a crime.

In case of a dispute over children, the division of common joint property of spouses or the payment of maintenance to a disabled spouse in need, the marriage shall be dissolved in court.
