Article 164. Introducing changes in the book of birth records in case of adoption

Family code of the Republic of Uzbekistan · Date: 30.04.1998 · In force

The necessary changes to the book of birth records of an adopted person shall be made by the civil registry authorities within ten days from the day of entry of the court decision on adoption into legal force.

Adoptive parents shall be recorded as the child's parents in the child's birth record book, if this is indicated in the court decision.

Where necessary, not only the child's surname, first name, and patronymic shall be changed, but also the date of child's birth, but not for more than one year. If the child is not more than 10 years old, the child's place of birth within the Republic of Uzbekistan may also be changed.
