Article 16. Circumstances preventing conclusion of marriage

Family code of the Republic of Uzbekistan · Date: 30.04.1998 · In force

Conclusion of marriage shall not be allowed:

Between persons, where at least one of them is already in another registered marriage;

Between lineal ancestors and lineal descendants, blood and non-blood brothers and sisters, as well as between adoptive parents and adopted children;

Between persons at least one of whom has been found by a court to be incapable due to mental disorder (mental illness or dementia).
