Article 96. Use of water objects for industrial purposes, and for thermal and nuclear energy needs
Water Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan · Date: 30.07.2025 · In force
Water users who use water objects for industrial purposes, and for thermal and nuclear energy needs, in addition to the obligations provided for in Article 75 of this Code, must take measures to reduce water consumption and to cease the discharge of sewage into water objects by improving production technology and introducing water supply circulation and secondary systems, as well as not allowing the radioactive contamination of water to exceed established norms.
When new industrial facilities are being designed and existing ones are being reconstructed, a circulating water supply must be provided for, with the exception of enterprises and other facilities that cannot be converted to a circulating water supply due to production conditions.
For operating enterprises that do not have a circulating water supply, the bodies of ecology, environmental protection and climate change, in agreement with the water management bodies and other authorized bodies, establish deadlines for their conversion to a circulating water supply system in accordance with the legislation.
