On approval of the Water Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (LRU-1076-son)

LAW OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN

Adopted by the Legislative Chamber on January 31, 2025 Approved by the Senate on March 17, 2025

Article 1. To approve the Water Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Article 2. To declare invalid the following:

1. The Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Water and Water Use” No. 837-XII of May 6, 1993 (Bulletin of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 1993, No. 5, Article 221);

2. The Resolution of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the procedure for introducing into effect the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan ʻOn Water and Water Useʼ” No. 838-XII of May 6, 1993 (Bulletin of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 1993, No. 5, Article 222);

3. Article 8 of Section I of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 421-I of April 25, 1997 “On introducing amendments and additions to certain legislative acts and declaring some of them invalid” (Bulletin of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 1997, Nos. 4-5, Article 126);

4. Section VI of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 681-I of August 29, 1998 “On introducing amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan” (Bulletin of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 1998, No. 9, Article 181);

5. Section III of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 125-II of August 31, 2000 “On introducing amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan” (Bulletin of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 2000, Nos. 7-8, Article 217);

6. Item 4 of Section I of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 175-II of December 15, 2000 “On introducing amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan and declaring some of them invalid” (Bulletin of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 2001, Nos. 1-2, Article 23);

7. Section III of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 568-II of December 12, 2003 “On introducing amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan” (Bulletin of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 2004, Nos. 1-2, Article 18);

Article 1 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 133-LRU of December 18, 2007 “On introducing amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of management in the fields of industry, gas supply and subsoil supervision” (Bulletin of the Chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 2007, No. 12, Article 604);

9. Article 1 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 240-LRU of December 25, 2009 “On introducing amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the deepening of economic reforms in agriculture and water management” (Bulletin of the Chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 2009, No. 12, Article 472);

27. Article 1 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 981-LRU of October 22, 2024 “On introducing amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan” (Bulletin of the Chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 2024, No. 10, Article 1080);

28. Sub-item 2 of the first part of Article 57 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Agricultural Cooperative” No. 995-LRU of November 8, 2024 (Bulletin of the Chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, 2024, No. 11, Article 1193).

Article 3. The Ministry of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan and other interested organizations shall ensure the implementation of this Law, its communication to executors, and the explanation of its essence and significance among the population.

Article 4. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan shall:

bring its decisions into conformity with this Law;

ensure that republican executive authorities review and repeal their regulatory legal acts that contradict this Law.

Article 5. This Law shall enter into force three months after its official publication.
