Article 235. Recognition of marriages concluded outside the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan

Marriages between citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan and marriages between citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan and foreign citizens or stateless persons concluded outside the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan in compliance with the legislation of the State in whose territory they were concluded shall be recognized as valid in the Republic of Uzbekistan, unless there are circumstances stipulated by Article 16 of the present Code that prevent the conclusion of a marriage.

Marriages between foreign citizens concluded outside the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan in accordance with the legislation of the State in the territory of which they were concluded shall be recognized as valid in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
