Article 1611. Adoption by citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan of a child who is a foreign citizen or stateless person permanently residing in the territory of another State

The adoption by citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan of a child who is a foreign citizen or stateless person permanently residing in the territory of another State shall take place in accordance with the procedure established by the law of the State where the child is permanently residing, when the adopted child is an orphan or a close relative of the adopters or adopter or when adoption in the home country is impossible for various reasons.

The adoption by citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan of a child who is a foreign citizen or stateless person permanently residing in the territory of another State shall require permission from the competent authority of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the adopting child to enter and reside permanently in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
